Old Blacksmiths Workshop open until the end of August.
The workshop quickly became known for its quality and good service. During the war years, when it was difficult to procure spare parts, spare parts of all shapes and sizes were cast there, for foreign and domestic ships. The forge was also a school in the metal industry, and it was desirable to learn there because of the variety of forge operations. There, people learned welding, electric welding, turning, blacksmithing in a furnace, metal casting and most other things that are done in a workshop. Guðmundur J. Sigurðsson fully owns the workshop in 1927.
The Westfjords Regional Museum has managed the collection of the Old Blacksmiths Workshop since 2014. The workshop was in operation until 1995 and in fact still works on occasion with all kinds of mechanical work and metal casting.
