Jonee Jonee first appeared on the scene in 1981 at the opening concert of N.E.F.S together with the band Þeyr and Fan Houtens Coco. As a result, the band performed widely and was considered by many to be one of the vanguard bands of the Rock in Reykjavík period, which was characterized by late-punk rock and new wave. Where you could place Jonee Jonee musically could turn out to be different: late-punk, new wave or even avant garde... In any case, it is undeniable that Jonee Jonee made a difference with progressive instrumentation, bass, drums and vocals, lively stage presence and interesting texts.
Now, almost forty years later, Jonee Jonee has come out of hibernation and made a refreshing comeback recently with the release of the 21-song LP album "Annar Dagur". Jonee Jonee intends to follow up the album with events in specially chosen places and with good people for the next decades - Vagninn in Flateyri is the first stop on that road trip. There, at Vagninn on July 12th, we'll be offering you some good rock!
